Professional Practices and Responsibilities:

To join this course you wil lbe required to contact us directly, pay the fee and we will the register you with the RYA for the online PPR course. The cost is £39.00 payable to HIMT.

RYA Day Skipper Shorebased Course: 5 days

This covers an introduction to navigation, chart work and other aspects of boating. This can be complimented with the practical cruising course. Some boating experience is helpful but not essential.

RYA Yachtmaster/Coastal Skipper Shorebased course 5 Days

This is a certificated course with examinations. it is for experienced sailors and seamen and is essential if working towards practical qualifications.

RYA Yachtmaster Ocean Shorebased course 5 day

This is a 7 day intensive course in astro-navigation and worldwide meteorology which also involves the practical use of the sextant. It assumes candidates already have the knowledge covered in the Coastal/Yachtmaster shorebased course.

RYA Short Range Certificate (VHF) incl GMDSS radio operations. One day course

This certificate is required for all potential Yachtmaster/Coastal skippers as well as being required by the skipper of any sea-going craft carrying VHF equipment.

Cost is £80.00 plus £25.00 (for exam etc payable on the day). Passport photograph is required.

RYA First Aid Course. One day.

A day of intensive tuition for this certificate.

In a medical emergency a little first aid knowledge and immediate action can save lives, especially in remote locations. This course is designed to provide a working knowledge of first aid for people using small craft and to support skippers of yachts and motor vessels. It fulfils the requirements for skippers of small craft working within 60 miles of a safe haven.

The course is MCA and HSE approved.

Cost is £90.00
